In ancient cultures, an Omen, was a phenomenon that referred to the advent of a change.


In ancient Greece, by carefully observing bird cries and the way they flew, augurs tried to predict the future.


In ancient Roman religions, however, the augurs interpreted the sounds to determine the will of the gods in response to specific questions.


Omen is José Venditti's first full-length studio album, after the release of several digital EP's (Audiotalaia, 2019), and the cassette release of several live performances such as the Concerto para Plantas (Crystal Mine, 2019) exhibited at the MACBA, or the cassette The Broken Hill resulting from the live performance with Javi Cruz at the Reina Sofia National Museum (Crystal Mine, 2022).


Omen is an album composed of 7 sound pieces that seek to generate in the listener states of uncertainty and urgency, the sensation of something that is yet to come and that forces them to imagine possibilities, it is the sound representation of an Omen.


Omen is also the result of 3 years of work around the search for new sonorities with the saxophone, modular synthesizer, field recordings, percussion instruments and a special interest in dissociating sounds from the sound sources they come from, mixing them, confusing them until blurring their limits.

En culturas ancestrales, un Omen (también considerado presagio o augurio) es un fenómeno que hace referencia al advenimiento de un cambio. 


En la antigua grecia, mediante la observación cuidadosa de los gritos de pájaro y la forma en que volaban, los augures intentaban predecir el futuro. 


En la antigua religión romana, en cambio, los augures interpretaban los sonidos para determinar la voluntad de los dioses en respuesta a preguntas específicas.


Omen es el primer album largo de estudio de José Venditti,&#38;nbsp; tras la edición de varios EP’s en digital (Audiotalaia, 2019), &#38;nbsp;y la edición en cassette de varias performance en directo como el Concerto para Plantas (Crystal Mine, 2019) expuesto en el MACBA, o el cassette The Broken Hill resultado de la performance en directo realizada con Javi Cruz en Museo Nacional Reina Sofia (Crystal Mine, 2022). 


Omen es un trabajo compuesto por 7 piezas que buscan generar en quien escucha estados de incertidumbre y urgencia, la sensación de algo que está por llegar y que fuerce a imaginar posibilidades, la representación sonora de un augurio.


Omen es también el resultado de 3 años de trabajo en torno a la búsqueda de nuevas sonoridades con el saxofón, sintetizador modular, grabaciones de campo, percusión y un interés especial en disociar los sonidos de las fuentes sonoras de donde proceden, de mezclarlas, de confundirlas hasta difuminar sus límites.

If we had known each other long before, surely we would have recorded something.Probably a “Vicalvareña” or “Extremeña” tape to lose later, like the ones we did record each one on our own in the times of rap music.Forgotten and attacked by the rains and the suns, the tape would probably have reached today like this, now without drums or snares or rhymes, washed and burned with new words and synths.Found in a drawer, it is the result of a recording with the public made on September 11, 2021 in the garden of the Reina Sofia Museum, as part of the "Electrodomésticas. La domesticidad de lxs múltiples agentes sonorxs" activity curated by José Luis Espejo, Susana Jiménez Carmona and Sarah Rasines.The recording began by pouring acids on some papers covered with a tempera that began to effervesce, and which now make up the collection of covers of these cassettes.After Javi went up to a terrace, José hid among the plants and they continued recording what can be heard on the broken hill.This bandcamp allows you to listen to a small extract of what happened there, the complete piece can only be heard on magnetic tape.

Si nos hubiéramos conocido mucho antes seguramente habríamos grabado algo, una maqueta vicalvareña o extremeña que perder después, como las que sí grabamos, cada uno por nuestro lado, en los tiempos del rap. 
Olvidada y atacada por las lluvias y los soles, la cinta habría llegado hasta hoy probablemente así, ya sin bombos ni cajas ni rimas, lavada y abrasada con nuevas verborreas y sintes.Encontrada en algún cajón, es fruto de una grabación con público realizada el 11 de septiembre de 2021 en el jardín del Museo Reina Sofia, en el marco de la actividad "Electrodomésticas. La domesticidad de lxs múltiples agentes sonorxs" comisariada por José Luis Espejo, Susana Jiménez Carmona y Sarah Rasines.La grabación comenzó vertiendo ácidos sobre unos papeles cubiertos con un temple que comenzó a efervescer, y que componen ahora la colección de portadas de estos cassettes.Después Javi subió a una terraza, José se escondió entre las plantas y continuaron grabando lo que se puede escuchar en la colina rota.Este bandcamp permite la escucha de un pequeño extracto de lo allí acontecido, la pieza completa solo se puede escuchar en la cinta magnética.

In a 45-minute-long meditative sound piece performed for an intimate audience on three consecutive mornings at the Top of the Rock, the Rockefeller Center’s observation deck, architect Andrés Jaque and his Office for Political Innovation invited spectators to sensorially experienced the interconnection of the city and the countryside, buildings and nature. 
Set up 850 feetabove Fifth Avenue, in this epic achievement of the WPA era that offers sweeping views of Manhattan and its periphery, the performance examined the complex history of construction in New York. 
Gathered at dawn, the audience was invited to “attune” with their environment and study the city’s skyline, from its early skyscrapers downtown to the rise of post-war glass towers and the more recent “pencil towers.”Curated by Charles Aubin, Senior Curator &#38;amp; Head of Publications.

(SP) &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp;En una pieza sonora meditativa de 45 minutos de duración interpretada para una pequeña audiencia&#38;nbsp;a lo largo de tres amaneceres consecutivos en la azotea del Rockefeller Center, el arquitecto Andrés Jaque y la Office for Political Innovation invitaron a los espectadores a experimentar sensorialmente la interconexión de la ciudad y el campo, los edificios y la naturaleza. 
Ubicado a 850 pies sobre la Quinta Avenida, en este logro épico de la era WPA que ofrece vistas panorámicas de Manhattan y su periferia, la actuación examinará la compleja historia de la construcción en Nueva York.

(EN) &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp;&#38;nbsp; During this past summer solstice, on the last day before the end of the state of alarm and the entry of the new normal, we developed a collaborative remote sound project under the following rules:- Each member of the collective will record a 21-minute track. 

- Only a maximum of three instruments can be used per person. 
- All four tracks will be performed at 120bpm and in C # as the dominant note. - No one will listen to what the others are doing until the sharing.

(EN)&#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; Tuinderlusten is an experimental project between the visual and sound arts which invites to rethink our relationship with nature, establishing an active dialogue between humans and plants. 

Taking the original name from the work The Garden of Earthly Delights (El Bosco, 1505), a painting depicting a diverse and intertwined humanity coliving among multiple natural structures, the proposal tries to place a vegetal environment at the center of the artistic experience, abandoning the anthropocentric vision of the world and enabling a new field for aesthetic research.

 Activating the different sensibilities of both species, the project understands sound perception and the act of listening (in its different forms) as tools for the definitive dissolution of the categorization between nature and culture, trying to establish a new multi-species approach to both creation and experience.

Can plants listen? Can we translate our words into sound stimuli that they can perceive? Can art become a parliament from which to experience new multispecies and coexistence languages?

Since the 70s, different artists and scientists have speculated about the ability of plants to perceive certain vibrations and sound frequencies and react to them. The book "The Secret Life of Plants" by Peter Tompkins and Christopher Bird, published in 1973, was the activator of new theoretical and artistic works in this direction, and in 1976 Mort Garson created Plantasia, the first album composed with electronic synthesizers designed to be heard by plants and humans.

Since then, new studies have emerged, trying to understand and determine which frequencies stimulate plants, and what physiological responses can be activated. At the same time, contemporary thinking has been drawing a new theoretical framework from which to investigate a new relationship with nature, one that abandons the anthropocentric approach displacing humans from the center of the experience in order to generate new postnatural relationships.

Tuinderlusten (A postnatural sound performance) is, in this sense, a listening session halfway between the storytelling and the concert, mixing and stimulating different forms of auditory perception. 

This project stems from the collaboration between the musician and sound artist José Venditti and the Institute for PostNatural Studies and their interest in working on the issue of ecology and its relationship with sound.

Both begin to research and work around these concepts and release a first version of the project with a Concerto for Plants on November 24, 2019 in the artistic space Pilarica 81.

(SP)&#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; Tuinderlusten es un proyecto de experimentación entre las artes visuales y las artes sonoras con el que se invita a repensar nuestra relación con la naturaleza, estableciendo un diálogo activo entre los humanos y las plantas. 
Tomando el nombre original de la obra El Jardín de las Delicias (El Bosco, 1505) en el que describe a una humanidad diversa y entrelazada con múltiples estructuras naturales, la propuesta trata de situar al mundo vegetal en el centro de la experiencia artística, para abandonar la visión antropocéntrica del mundo y posibilitar un nuevo campo de investigación estética. 
Activando las distintas sensibilidades de ambas especies, el proyecto entiende la escucha y la percepción sonora (en sus diferentes formas) como herramientas para la definitiva disolución de la categorización entre naturaleza y cultura, tratando de establecer un nuevo entorno multiespecie de creación y experiencia. 

 ¿Pueden las plantas escuchar? ¿Podemos traducir nuestras palabras en estímulos que sean percibidos por ellas? ¿Puede el arte convertirse en un nuevo parlamento desde donde experimentar lenguajes multiespecie y de coexistencia? 
Desde los años 70, se ha especulado sobre la habilidad de las plantas de percibir determinadas vibraciones y frecuencias sonoras y reaccionar a ellas. El libro “La vida secreta de las plantas” de Peter Tompkins y Christopher Bird publicado en 1973 fue el activador de nuevos trabajos teóricos y artísticos sobre la cuestión, y en 1976 Mort Garson’s creó Plantasia, el primer álbum realizado con sintetizadores electrónicos compuesto para ser escuchado por plantas y humanos. 
Desde entonces han surgido nuevos estudios que determinan qué frecuencias estimulan de mejor o peor manera a las plantas y qué respuestas fisiológicas provocan en ellas. Al mismo tiempo, el pensamiento contemporáneo a ido trazando un nuevo marco teórico desde donde reflexionar una nueva relación con la naturaleza, que se desprenda de la mirada antropocéntrica y que desplace definitivamente del centro al humano para generar nuevos espacios de relaciones. 

Tuinderlusten (A postnatural sound performance) es una sesión de escucha a medio camino entre la charla y el concierto, mezclando y estimulando distintas formas de percepción auditiva. 
Este proyecto nace de la colaboración entre el músico y artista sonoro José Venditti el Institute for PostNatural Studies y su interés por abordar la cuestión de la ecología y su relación con el sonido. 
Ambos empiezan a investigar y trabajar alrededor de estos conceptos y estrenan una primera versión del proyecto con un Concerto para Plantas el 24 de noviembre de 2019 en el espacio artístico Pilarica 81.

(EN)&#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; La Casa Encendida Radio is a platform for sound experimentation that wants to explore the radio format from an artistic perspective, a space to share interests and concerns with a multitude of voices that resonate in our present and an archive of sounds from our recent history.
The sound identity of La Casa Encendida Radio is provided by the Institute for Postnatural Studies &#38;amp; José Venditti, who propose, in line with radio programming, a soundscape where analog sounds are intermixed with digitally processed sounds, synthesizers generate sounds of nature while human voices are transformed into machines, generating new auditory relationships and fragile balances between the natural and the artificial.
This project thus invites us to broaden our auditory spectrum, to listen to other voices and other beings, and to imagine desirable worlds of a future from a planetary consciousness.
